Whether you’re running a single van or a full fleet of HGVs, staying ahead of your service schedule keeps faults manageable, MOTs achievable, and your business moving.

At HFG Commercials, we carry out servicing to manufacturer specification on all makes and models of commercial vehicle — with a particular specialism in MAN TGE vans and MAN Trucks as a MAN Authorised Repair Centre.

Van Servicing — MAN TGE and All Makes

The MAN TGE is built on a fixed service schedule of every 12 months or 30,000km — whichever comes first. As a Euro 6d-compliant vehicle, it uses a sophisticated SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system to meet emissions standards, with an enlarged 30-litre AdBlue tank and twin-dosing injection technology. That system depends entirely on the correct engine oil specification and a healthy AdBlue setup to function as intended.

A van service at HFG covers everything the manufacturer requires: engine oil and filter change to MAN-approved specification, air filter, fuel filter, and cabin filter inspection and replacement where due, a full brake inspection covering pads, discs, calipers, and handbrake, coolant, AdBlue, brake fluid, and power steering fluid checks, tyre condition, tread depth, and pressures, lights, indicators, horn, and wiper blades, battery condition, belts and hoses, and a final road test with a full health check report.

Using the right oil matters more than many operators realise. The MAN TGE requires an oil meeting MAN-approved specifications — not generic alternatives. Using incorrect oil can invalidate your manufacturer’s warranty, accelerate engine wear, and disrupt the emissions aftertreatment system. We only use manufacturer-approved fluids on every vehicle we service.

We also service all other makes of light commercial vehicle — Ford Transit, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Volkswagen Crafter, Vauxhall Movano, Renault Master, Fiat Ducato, and more — each to their individual service schedule.

HGV Servicing — MAN Trucks and All Makes

HGV servicing is a different discipline to van servicing, and the consequences of cutting corners are proportionally larger. A truck covering 100,000+ miles a year is subject to far greater stress than any light commercial vehicle, and the systems involved — air brakes, complex suspension, multi-ECU electronics, AdBlue and EGR systems — require specialist knowledge and the correct tooling to inspect properly.

As a MAN Authorised Repair Centre, we carry out servicing on MAN Trucks (TGL, TGM, TGS, TGX) to manufacturer specification. MAN’s service programme is designed around major and minor service intervals matched to real-world operating conditions, ensuring that everything from the engine and gearbox through to the braking system and exhaust aftertreatment is maintained at the right time, not just when something goes wrong.

An HFG HGV service covers engine oil and filter change to the correct SAE grade, fuel and air filter replacement where due, a full air brake inspection covering air dryer, brake chambers, slack adjusters, and lining thickness, suspension inspection across air bags, spring hangers, U-bolts, and bushes, steering inspection including free play and joint condition, fluid levels and condition throughout, tyre inspection covering tread, condition, and pressures, lights and reflectors, chassis and sub-frame inspection, wheel nut torque check, and a tachograph calibration flag if the next due date is approaching.
