The parts and fluids used in your vehicle directly affect how long repairs last, how reliably it runs, and whether your manufacturer’s warranty stays intact. Saving a few pounds on cheaper components can lead to a repeat failure, a voided warranty claim, or an emissions fault that puts your vehicle off the road. At HFG Commercials, we use genuine MAN parts and manufacturer-approved operating fluids, alongside quality-assured components for all other makes of van and HGV.

Genuine MAN Parts

As a MAN Authorised Repair Centre, we source genuine MAN parts directly through the MAN supply network. Genuine parts are engineered and tested specifically for MAN vehicles — they fit correctly, perform to specification, and carry MAN’s quality assurance. For vehicles still within their warranty period, using genuine MAN parts is essential: non-approved parts can invalidate warranty coverage on the affected system, which becomes an expensive problem if a major component subsequently fails.

We regularly supply and fit genuine MAN components including engine parts (oil filters, air filters, fuel filters), brake components (discs, drums, pads, linings, chambers, and slack adjusters), belts, tensioners, and idlers, seals, gaskets, and O-rings, cooling system components (thermostats, water pumps, hoses), electrical components (sensors, relays, switches, and modules), and exhaust aftertreatment parts (AdBlue dosing units, NOx sensors, and DPF components).

MAN-Approved Operating Fluids

Modern commercial vehicles — particularly Euro 6 engines — are highly sensitive to the quality and specification of the fluids running through them. Using the wrong oil grade, an incorrect coolant mix, or substandard AdBlue can cause lasting damage to expensive components and void your warranty in the process.

Engine oil: We use MAN-approved engine oils to the correct SAE grade for your specific engine — ensuring the right viscosity at operating temperature, compatibility with emissions aftertreatment systems, and support for extended drain intervals where applicable.

AdBlue (DEF): We use Diesel Exhaust Fluid meeting the ISO 22241 standard. Quality matters here: contaminated or diluted AdBlue can damage the SCR catalyst and dosing system — two of the most expensive components on a Euro 6 vehicle. The MAN TGE carries a 30-litre AdBlue tank; the level should be checked at every service and topped up as required.

Coolant: Extended-life coolant to the correct MAN specification, available pre-mixed or as concentrate.

Gearbox and axle oils: Correct specification oils for MAN TipMatic automatic gearboxes and rear axle differentials — not interchangeable with generic gear oils.

Brake fluid: DOT-rated hydraulic brake fluid for light commercial vehicle brake systems.

Quality Parts for All Other Makes

For non-MAN vehicles, we source quality OEM-equivalent parts from trusted suppliers, maintaining the same standard of repair regardless of the brand. We don’t use budget or unverified components — every part we fit is selected for its quality, fit, and suitability for the application.
